Aleris announces wide-scale launch of Swedish AI solution for medical record
The new medical data annotation tool has already been launched in 15 of the approximately 100 units operated by Aleris.
Aleris and Tandem Health have partnered to implement an AI solution for medical record-keeping for the purpose of freeing up more time for patient-centred work. The project aims to streamline resource utilisation through modernised work methods and to simplify and improve the healthcare journey for both patients and healthcare professionals alike.

Swedish healthcare professionals spend a disproportionately large amount of their working hours on documentation at a time when healthcare is up against major challenges. A new approach is needed to meet patient care needs and expectations. Up to one day per week is spent on managing patient records and other documentation, which ultimately has a negative impact on the work environment, patient safety and ability to care for patients. Healthcare is therefore in desperate need of solutions that can simplify procedures and free up time.
That's why Swedish health-tech company Tandem Health and Aleris, one of Sweden's largest private healthcare providers, are teaming up to establish a more digitised and automated care flow.

Generative AI and large language models (LLMs) became widely available with the launch of ChatGPT. LLMs can quickly and accurately create well-written and informative texts based on instructions. Tandem Health has developed a solution based on these technologies to revolutionise medical record-keeping.
Healthcare professionals conduct their conversation with the patient as usual, while Tandem transcribes the conversation in the background to automatically create a draft medical note based on the template used by the healthcare provider. Users can than make adjustments and transfer everything to their own medical record system at the touch of a button.
— We have seen that doctors using Tandem spend 80% less time writing medical notes, as they no longer have to write or dictate everything from scratch, says Lukas Saari, CEO of Tandem.
Tandem has already been trialled at several Aleris operations in an initial phase. Aleris has now initiated a broad implementation of the solution across medical specialities.
